Where to Buy Maileg on California's Central Coast
If you've fallen down the Maileg rabbit hole — and it is a rabbit hole — you've probably discovered that these little Danish mice aren't sold just anywhere. Maileg keeps its retailers deliberately limited, which is lovely for the brand and mildly maddening when you're standing in your kitchen trying to find a big sister mouse before a birthday on Saturday.
So here's the short answer.
Where can I buy Maileg near San Luis Obispo?
Shop Little Cousins is a stocking Maileg retailer at 6425 El Camino Real in downtown Atascadero, California — about twenty minutes north of San Luis Obispo and fifteen minutes south of Paso Robles, right off Highway 101. We carry Maileg in the shop and online at shoplittlecousins.com, and we ship anywhere in the United States.
If you'd rather come see them in person (and honestly, you should — photos don't do the tiny embroidered details justice), we're open Monday through Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm. Call or text us at 805.538.8408 if you're driving in from out of town and want us to set something aside.
What Maileg do you carry?
Most of it, most of the time. Our Maileg collection spans:
- Mice — big sisters, little sisters, big brothers, little brothers, babies in matchboxes, plus the specialty ones: ballerinas, hikers, bakers, drivers, beach mice with their own floats
- Bunnies and rabbits — from mini plush that fit in a fist to the larger heirloom sizes
- Ducks, kittens and other friends that rotate through seasonally
- Furniture and miniatures — bunk beds, rocking chairs, folding chairs, sofa beds, kitchen benches, bathtub sets, tiny rugs
- The House of Miniature dollhouse and its add-on rooms — the bathroom, the bonus room
- Seasonal and holiday pieces, which move fast and rarely come back
Because Maileg releases in seasonal waves and sells through, our inventory shifts constantly. Browse the full Maileg collection here to see what's actually on the shelf today — it's the same stock in the shop and online.
What about the Fall & Winter 2026 collection?
It's landing now, in stages. A good portion of the new season is available to preorder, with arrival windows running from early September through early November — the rocking horse, the ballerina mice, the waffle and soup sets, the new folding chairs, the lace rug.
Preordering is the only reliable way to get the pieces you actually want. Maileg produces in limited runs, and the popular characters are usually gone within days of arriving. We wrote up how Maileg preorders work here if you haven't done one with us before — it's simple, and you're not charged until it ships.
Can I order online and pick up in Atascadero?
Yes. Choose local pickup at checkout and your order is usually ready within 24 hours. It's the easiest option if you're coming from Templeton, Santa Margarita, Paso Robles or San Luis Obispo and don't want to make the drive twice.
For everyone else, US ground shipping is free on orders over $75, no code needed, and orders ship within one to three business days.
A few honest notes
Maileg is excluded from our promotional discounts and coupon codes. This is a brand requirement, not a choice on our end — it's the same at every authorized Maileg retailer. If a site is discounting Maileg heavily, that's worth a second look.
Buy from a stocking retailer. Maileg is one of the more counterfeited toy brands out there, and the fakes have gotten good enough that they're hard to spot in a listing photo. Buying from an authorized shop means what arrives is the real thing, in the real box, with the details intact.
Serving families across SLO County
We're a small shop run by two sisters, and we've become the Maileg stop for families in Atascadero, Templeton, Paso Robles, Santa Margarita, San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay and the wider Central Coast. If you're visiting wine country with kids in tow, we're an easy stop in downtown Atascadero — and a very good place to solve a gift problem.
