Boutique Beginnings: The Story of Shop Little Cousins

Hi! We're Jen and Katie, two sisters who started Shop Little Cousins in 2023, and we're so glad you're here!

We live about five hours apart (Jen in Roseville, CA and Katie in Atascadero, CA), but we've always been close. When we both became moms around the same time, we found ourselves constantly texting each other about the same thing: why is it so hard to find cute, quality kids' clothes? Especially for boys. Jen was endlessly frustrated with the options available locally and online, and Katie, with two babies under two, was right there with her.

So we decided to do something about it.

How It Started

Shop Little Cousins launched in 2023, named after our three little ones — the baby cousins who inspired the whole thing. Katie brought her background in marketing and retail, Jen brought her finance brain, and together we figured out the rest as we went. It wasn't always smooth. Katie's second baby arrived just four weeks after we went live, which was… a lot but we made it work.

What We're Building

We want Shop Little Cousins to be the place you think of first when you need a baby shower gift, a first birthday outfit, or just something special for the little one in your life. We pick everything ourselves, and if we wouldn't put it on our own kids, it doesn't make the cut.

We opened our first brick-and-mortar store in downtown Atascadero in 2024, and it has been such a dream. If you're ever on the Central Coast, come say hi — we'd love to meet you in person.
